About the Topic

In today’s fast paced world of evolving business strategies, market pressures and customer demands, IT Organizations are expected to develop and deploy business solutions and software at an accelerated pace. The concept of “DevOps” and “Continuous Integration” can help meet these challenges through improved Collaboration and Automation.
During this session, we will define and explore “TestOps”, the Quality Assurance and Testing aspects of Development Operations, which includes Test Environment Management, Environment Scheduling, Provisioning and Retrofit, Automated Build/Deployment and, Test Data Management as well as other key capabilities that helps enable Continuous Integration and improve software quality and speed of delivery. Following presentations by each of the panelists, an open panel discussion will occur to address their strategies and experience implementing DevOps/TestOps in their organizations, including major successes and current challenges.

About the Panelists

Jose Alvarez is a Development Operations SME and works closely with Fortune 500 IT leaders to develop DevOps vision and strategy for their Enterprise. Jose has 20 years of experience in the IT industry and over 10 years of experience leading Global technology growth with focus on Offshore/Nearshore centers. Before joining Zivra, Jose led Accenture’s Technology Consulting capability in their Americas Global Delivery Network. Jose is experienced in developing technology offerings and solutions and helping to identify key talent for IT technology needs, including Cloud, Virtualization and DevOps. He holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Gowri Selka is the Head of Software Quality Assurance and Engineering at Walgreens and leads a team of over 550 software testing and QA professionals. She has successfully setup a centralized QA organization that is globally distributed to provide functional, automation, SOA, performance testing services in Retail, Healthcare, supply chain, merchandising domains that generate more than $70B annually. Gowri has successfully implemented leading edge capabilities like service virtualization, componentized testing, performance engineering and risk assessment frameworks. She is currently implementing test driven development by integrating with automated unit testing, SOA, UI based automation along with DevOps methodology to drive continuous integration testing.

Doug Lionberger is the Director of eCommerce Technology and Operations for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation where he has developed and implemented new strategies and improvements for eCommerce development and operational effectiveness. His other responsibilities include SEO, application maintenance and deployment, and leading a newly defined DevOps practice within the Global IT organization. Prior to Hyatt Hotels, Doug held executive level IT positions at American Express, Transunion, and Budget Rent-A-Car, where he provided successful technology strategies and leadership in Development, Operations, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Global Services Desk Management. Doug is an accomplished Information Technology and business executive with broad-based progressive experience in developing and leading IT organizations to support global strategic business requirements and to provide operational efficiencies in all phases of delivery.
