Testing Effort Estimation in Agile

About the Topic

IT testing teams have always had challenges in determining the testing effort within the SDLC. Things don’t get easier when IT development uses Agile methods and story points for estimation of development effort. A story point can consist of a combination of development effort from design, back-end development, API/ web services development, and UI development. A story point measures how hard a story is to develop based on its complexity, unknowns, and effort. But how does a story point translate to the amount of manual and automated testing needed for functional testing, platform compatibility testing, regression testing and other essential tests? And how can you determine if testing will fit within the two week sprint? What is the testing estimation model for QA teams under Agile Development?

We are organizing a round table discussion with the industry experts, like yourself, on this topic.
  • Why we still need to measure our testing team’s effort in Agile
  • Testing effort estimation and productivity metrics
  • Story points by complexity or hours in QA subtask
  • Estimating for test automation
  • And more….
This is your opportunity to contribute to the Chicagoland QA community!
