The Perils of Being an Agile Tester – Discussion Forum

Paul Herzog, SPR Consulting

About the Topic

Do you find that your Agile development environment is creating more Quality Assurance problems than it solves? Is the dream of integrating test automation into your team elusive? Are you frustrated by being a Software Test professional in a process that does not have a definition for your role?

Hey, us too!

Join us for a lively open forum to discuss the challenges you face, the changes you make, and the triumphs you wish to celebrate. Share what stumps you, confounds your expectations, and keeps you tossing and turning all night. Learn what works and what does from those who have preceded you down the Agile path. How are you adding value? What have you done to be an invaluable asset, the go-to team member your Scrum Master can’t live without? How does your team make its mark from Sprint Planning to the Retrospective?

Bring your lunch and challenges. Examples of some of the common challenges to be discussed:

  • Testers get left behind for the first 8 days of a 2 week Sprint and can never catch up
  • Testers aren’t equal partners in sprints
  • Automation within a sprint
  • Testing Center of Excellence -Is there a role?
  • Test managers and agile team - Are test managers needed?
  • Tracking testing in an agile-like way
  • Etc.
