About the Topic

When most testers think of test automation, robust, coded frameworks in multiple programming languages usually come to mind. Recently Paul Grossman began to question the idea that low code and no code tools fall short compared to coded solutions. In this session, Paul will have live examples that address some of the common misconceptions of codeless test automation.  Some of the questions that will be answered in this session are:

•  Can manual testers create tests with textual element location without CSS or xPath? 
•  How can codeless tools support data driven test automation in parallel?
•  Can they reduce maintenance with modular reuse and refactoring?
•  Can tests be scheduled to run cross platform automatically without Jenkins or Docker?
• Most importantly can they detect issues beyond an explicit validation and screen captures?

About the Speaker

Paul Grossman is a Test Automation Architect with 22 years’ experience creating frameworks in multiple programming languages.  He’s designed TDD automation frameworks for organizations such as Redbox (Outerwall), NORC at Univ. of Chicago, Victoria’s Secret, FTD, Abbott Labs and Grainger.  A frequent guest on test automation podcasts and speaker at automation meetups, Paul is currently the host of the ZappleTech test automation meetups.
